Week of 5/5 - 5/9
With the semester wrapping up today, we were instructed to use this week's discussion thread to offer insights on your most/least favorable text or discussion.
Thought Provoking Question Examples...
What were you passionate about? Which reading, subject, or discussion did not resonate with you?
Where do you go from here?
How has this class inspired you to continue your studies of issues related to the African diaspora?
What study skills have you acquired from this class that may carry over to other classes?
What specific class content questions do you want me to address?
My response:
I agree with most of my peers who said that classes like this make me want to learn more about the topic. History in general can seem boring, but I like how this class was more communication focused rather than reading a thick textbook with long accompanying slideshows. It also helped me to think from a viewpoint of the same/ similar struggle (racism and capitalism) in different countries and cultural contexts.
My favorite lesson and discussion board was the one about Haiti and the Dominican Republic and the disparities that occur at the boarders with markets.
I have never created a blog, let alone kept up with one for a class before. I do like the concept of the website essentially lasting as a time capsule of information and synthesis of information I've learned.
I completed the course reflection as requested.

It has been a pleasure to share time and space in this class. We have learned so much and this information is enough to last a lifetime! I pray that you continue to on the path and wish you success in all things!🌱
